According to Saudi Arabian law, a man and a woman cannot live together without marriage. But Ronaldo and Georgina are not married yet
Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo has joined Saudi club Al Nasr after being without a club for a month and a half after breaking ties with English club Manchester United. Portuguese superstar Ronaldo has already set foot in the desert for his debut for the Saudi club.
CR Seven was also officially introduced as a Saudi club player on Tuesday (January 3).
The Portuguese star was supposed to make his debut against Al Thayer on Thursday. However, CR Seven is currently banned for two matches due to a two-match ban for breaking a fan’s mobile phone after a loss in the English Premier League match last April.
However, Ronaldo, who was banned for breaking the spectator’s mobile phone, broke a sensitive law of the country by stepping foot in Saudi Arabia.
Because Ronaldo must have discussed this matter with the club authorities during the contract with Al Nasr.
And the Spanish sports media Football Espino spoke to two legal experts in Saudi Arabia about the issue. They said Saudi authorities would treat Ronaldo in the same light as they do for other Westerners, even though extramarital affairs are strictly prohibited under Saudi law. The two legal experts also said that the Saudi authorities usually do not bother with these issues of Western citizens
So, Ronaldo-fans have nothing to worry about for now.
It should be noted that CR Seven has joined Saudi Arabian club Al Nasr in a two-and-a-half-year contract until 2025.
The business factor played a bigger role in bringing Cristiano Ronaldo to the team than the football aspect. No more or why? The name Cristiano Ronaldo is a brand in itself. The Saudi club did not hesitate to pour money for Ronaldo, who is on the threshold of 39 years of age.
However, the transfer fee has not been confirmed by Al Nasr or Ronaldo yet. However, according to Saudi Arabia’s state-owned TV channel Al Ekhbariya News, Ronaldo’s annual income from playing for Al Nasr will stand at 172 million British pounds (Tk 2,159 crore in Bangladeshi currency).
However, Ronaldo will not get this money only for playing on the field. According to CBS Sports, Al-Nasser will pay him 62 million pounds a year, with the rest of the money Ronaldo will receive from his image rights, participation in advertising and other ancillary activities.
Meanwhile, the number of fans on the club’s social media accounts has been growing exponentially since the Portuguese star joined Al Nasr. The Saudi club has more than 4 times more followers on Instagram. Al Nasser has come to the attention of the whole world media including the European media. The club is now at the center of football talk.
Ronaldo will play in Al Nasr wearing the number 7 jersey. Ronaldo has been one of the best stars in European club football for the past two decades. In total, he played in 4 European clubs.
