DALLAS (Gray News) – The Dallas Zoo is closed Friday as staff searches for a clouded leopard missing from its enclosure.
The zoo said on Twitter that they were experiencing an ongoing “Code Blue” situation, which they described as an animal that is not dangerous outside of its natural habitat.
The zoo said the search began when one of their clouded leopards was not in its enclosure when staff checked on it on Friday morning. The animal remains missing.
The zoo said their main priority at this time is to find the animal. They believe he is still on the zoo grounds and hiding, given the nature of the clouded leopard.
Dallas police are assisting in the search for the animal.
